As part of the ongoing development initiatives, the UAE government has decided to approve remote work visa to enable employees from all over the world to live and work in the country for a period of one year. This goes in addition to a multiple-entry tourist visa for people belonging to all nations.
The new directives are part of the several initiatives approved by the cabinet during a meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday to position the UAE as an ideal work and tourist destination.
In a tweet shared by HH Sheikh Mohammed, he states the new Remote Work Visa to enable employees from all over the world to live and work remotely from the UAE even if their companies are based in another country. According to his tweet, the multiple-entry tourist visa for all nationalities will help to strengthen the UAE’s status as a global economic capital.
Remote Work Visa
The new remote work visa scheme aims to attract global talents and expertise to UAE by enabling them to work within their nation. The visa will be issued for a one-year period under self-sponsorship and works in accordance with the terms and conditions mentioned in the visa.
This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of UAE compared to other developed nations and support the national economy to a large extend. This will also be a major breakthrough in UAE’s business sector by providing entrepreneurs and investors the opportunity to innovate within a safe and lucrative business environment.
The new scheme is supposed to give UAE access to talented professionals from around the world who can contribute to the overall development of the nation. The remote work scenario also aims to boost work-life balance and improve productivity in both public and private sectors.
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa
In addition to the remote visa, UAE has also decided to issue a multiple entry tourist visa for visitors belonging to all nationalities as a part of boosting the tourist sector. This visa is issued for a period of five years on self-sponsorship and allows tourists to enter UAE multiple times and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, which can be extended for another 90 days.
According to surveys, UAE is already on the top list of nations preferred by foreigners as an ideal location for both tourism and business. The new directive will certainly be an added impetus in placing UAE on top of the world’s best destinations offering work safety and quality life for both citizens and immigrants.
HH Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed that the UAE’s development journey continues as changes remain to be taking place to renew and improve government work.
