Power Of Attorney

Power Of Attorney

A Power of Attorney (POA) in the GCC jurisdictions is a legal document through which a person (the principal) authorizes another individual (the agent or attorney-in-fact) to act on their behalf in specified legal, financial, or personal matters.

It is widely used across the GCC for managing affairs where the principal is unable to be physically present or prefers to delegate authority.

Execution & Legal Requirements

To be valid and enforceable, a POA must typically:

  • Be in writing with clearly defined powers
  • Be translated into Arabic (if originally in another language)
  • Be notarized before a UAE Notary Public
  • If executed outside the UAE:
    • Be notarized in the home country
    • Attested by the UAE Embassy in the home country
    • Legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE

What We Do

  • Drafting of GCC jurisdiction compliant general and specific PoA
  • Drafting Property related PoA documentation
  • Business and financial authority delegation
